Galingabangbur – Children Part 2

from $219.00

I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which I was born and raised.

In this painting, you will see three large ∩ shapes. In Aboriginal culture, these symbols represent individuals. I have chosen to create the artwork in my signature black and white to symbolize the coming together of cultures. The three symbols depict my children—proud, strong, and united—through strong lines, while the rounded edges reflect their softness and caring nature. Dominant symbols of fire, water, and smoke are also present. The intricate array of small dots filling the background represents the many steps I have taken—and will continue to take—to guide my children on their life path.

As a mother, I am willing to move mountains, help them conquer the heaviest seas, and walk through fire for their sake. Lastly, the three round symbols floating above represent the sun that shines brightly for each of my children, who shine forever in my heart.

I give thanks every day for being blessed with a beautiful daughter and two sons, and I feel immense pride in being their mother.
